The meetings of electoral college members on December 14 sealed Biden’s win in the 2020 Presidential election. As Biden arrived to deliver the electoral college victory speech, he was seen coughing during the whole debate. This aroused many questions about Biden’s health.
Biden coughing worried the viewers across the globe if President-elect Joe Biden has contracted the coronavirus. These worries increased when, after the speech, Joe Biden added that he is suffering from “a bit of a cold” too.
Similarly, after the deliverance of the electoral college speech, Biden was seen in Georgia for the election campaign of the Senate run-offs. While promoting the campaign of Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in Georgia, he continued to cough in his thirteen-minute speech, causing a lot of concerns, once again, about his health.
When talking about the event, Dr. Fauci emphasized Biden and Harris should get vaccinated at their earliest convenience.
“For security reasons, I really feel strongly that we should get them vaccinated as soon as we possibly can. We want him fully protected as he enters into the presidency in January. So, that would be my strong recommendation.”
(Dr. Fauci)
As the US Food and Drug Administration has approved the vaccine, the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine has already started. In the only vice-presidential debate, Kamala Harris said if Dr. Fauci recommends it, she will take the vaccine.
According to the experts, even if Biden is not having coronavirus, people having a cold and cough are more prone to the virus. So, prevention is always better than cure, and taking the vaccine will also motivate others who are reluctant to get vaccinated.
Considering the busy schedule of the President-elect Joe Biden and all the meetings he is attending owing to the transition process, getting vaccinated seems to be the only way out. Surely, contracting the coronavirus would be the last thing he would want, given he will assume the most powerful office in the world on January 20, 2021.
The 306 to 232 victory came on Monday, as all the electors voted across the party lines, and no one went faithless.
