Kamala Harris 2024 Conundrum: Democrats Next Presidential Elections Could be Messy

The Democrats’ conundrum for the 2024 presidential race is building pace this time, even before the midterm elections.

As the rumors about 79-years-old Biden not seeking a second term remain high, the only thing that Democrats want to know is when he would announce his future plans.

Meanwhile, Kamala Harris, the probable Democratic candidate, also is also on a risky ride by doing unpopular political commentary in the elections that are basically considered taboo in politics.

If Kamala Harris decides to run for presidential elections 2024 once Biden steps down, she can face some major repercussions. First she failed to magaed immigration crisis effectively, the only responsibility given to her by the president. Secondly she is doing unpopular political commentary that can cost him elections.

Democrats’ Problem in 2024: Confused Leadership Unable to Make a Clear Direction

The possible nomination of Kamala Harris may look fancy to many Democrats considering she would be the first woman of color to run for the presidency.

However, the recent turn of events very much depicts that her maiden call for the presidency is likely to get defeated for various reasons.

First, with Biden’s popularity decline, her approval ratings are also getting a hit as she is the vice president under him.

Second, she was enabled to handle the immigration crisis of the United States, the only thing which President Biden assigned her officially, and the recent turn of events have just aggravated the border crisis. With her poor show in curbing the immigration crisis, she is on a backfoot right now.

But the real problem lies in the campaigning practice for Democrats, in case of a Biden retreat at the eleventh hour to run for the presidency again.

A proper presidential campaign requires at least a couple of years to make a public narrative in favor of a specific politician, not to mention the fundraising required for the presidential campaign.

Biden cannot expect to announce his choice not to reseek reelection in mid-2024 and to see Democrats winning on a high note in the November elections. This issue will surely be playing a role in the backend of Biden’s mind.

However, he knows that the sooner he announces not to run for the presidency, the sooner his political clout starts declining in the country.

Not announcing the second term will also indicate a failure in the first tenure of Biden’s presidency, which is the last thing Democrats want to portray to the voters before the 2024 elections.

For instance, if the economic agenda of Joe Biden does not unfold the way he envisioned and inflation continues to rise, Biden will have no incentive left to run for the highest office in 2024.

And the declaration of not running will be the admission of failure by the Biden. The last half-year will become ineffective in this case, which will paint a picture of the fallen Democratic party.

During Terry McAuliffe's political campaign in Virginia, Kmala Harris said that he result of this elections would determine the 2022 and 2024 results. Predicting the loss of one's own party is not considered as a good approach in politics.

Kamala Harris Going Against Political Norms Could Hurt Her Presidential Bid

Kamal Harris was supposed to be the probable successor of Biden, but recently she axed her own feet.

In the concluding phase of the Virginia gubernatorial race, while campaigning for Terry Mcauliffe, Kamala Harris acted as a non-veteran politician, saying that the elections of Virginia will determine the results of the 2022 midterm and 2024 presidency as well.

Going by her own statement, Republicans will win the upcoming elections as predicted by the vice president. But on Harris’s part, this was quite an irresponsible statement. Predicting the race that could go against one’s own party’s candidate is considered an unwritten rule in political decorum.

However, Kamala Harris broke this decorum, the consequences of which she can face in the upcoming years.

Another problem for Kamala Harris is to seek Biden’s support if he does not run in the elections. But if Biden does not run himself due to the dwindling popularity, his support of Harris will also be of no use.

In fact, Kamala Harris can even try to distance herself from Biden’s backing just like many GOP leaders try not to align them with Trump. This can create infighting within Democrats over their probable presidential nominee.

The former President Donald Trump has been collecting consistent funding, but if Biden decides not to run again, the new Democrat will be short of time in collecting the needed funding.

Final Thoughts

Donald Trump will be the ultimate winner amid all of this episode if Biden decides not to seek another term. With -limited funding and the shortage of time, the Democrats’ next nominee will face the campaign donation crisis.

However, Trump is already in full flow of getting donations, even the money which other Republicans were looking for. He has successfully managed to trick Facebook by grabbing the donations through his campaign instead of his own profile after getting banned from the platform.

Certainly, it is time for Biden to make a decision if he wants another term as a president. So, other candidates may pull up their socks.
